Chapter 16
"Since you harbor no such thought, why bother giving it to you love" Martins said and pulled away before there lips met, her eyes flew open and she missed his warmth immediately. She narrowed her eyes on him
"Are you kidding me" she yelled, and Martins motioned her to be quiet
"Mom" he said and she gasped "love you said you harbor no such thought" he said and sat opposite her
"I dont" she said sitting down with grumpy look
"You body says otherwise" he said with a scoff.
"So you're saying my heart beats so fast that it even threatens to break my rips whenever I see you" she said and stood up
"you're saying, the hair at the back of my neck stands up whenever your warm breath fans my face" she starts walking closer
"You're saying, I feel electricity and butterfly whenever you touch me" keeps getting closer, making Martins nervous
"You're saying, I curl up my toe out of nervousness whenever you are around
"You're saying am actually waking closer to you now cause I want to kiss the hell out of you" she said and sat on Martins laps facing him
"Hell yes you are right" she said and smashed her lips on his, they move in sync, it felt like centuries since they had their last kiss.
They kiss vehemently, both struggling for dominance with Martins winning, he drew her impossibly close, she moan as Martins gently clawed her back, he left her lips and get down to her neck, she moan as she held on to Martins as a lifesaver. She hate the barrier that cloths gives, she wants to rip it out, so she made a move to pull her top out but Martins stopped her.
"No" he said, surprising Joy
"Why" she asked cause she knows Martins want it too, cause his device is poking her, so that's evidence enough
"Cause mom is in her room and am being a good son" he said, Joy faced palm for forgetting.
"You're right" she said and then checked the time, its getting late, how time flies when you are having a good time she thought "I will be leaving now" she said and Martins couldn't help but be sad.
"Don't worry we still have the future" she said trying to brighten his mood.
"I almost forgot, is Charles really your fiancee" He asked, Joy stood up and gave him a confused look "your father said he is and Chisom said so too" he said.
"Chisom" she asked feeling threatening already
"Yea, she came earlier"
"How did she know here" she said already mad with rage
"She said she followed me" he said and finds Joys jealousy very cute "I know it doesn't matter but I never welcomed her in my humble abode" he said and it gave him what he wanted cause Joy smiled
"About the fiancee issue, it started when I was little, I use to fawn over Charles and they refer to him as my husband, but that's child's fantasy, cause I out grew it even before I hit puberty. And he is like a decade older than me" she said, truthfully she sees Charles as elder brother now.
"Hmm, then I shouldn't worry" he said
"Yes you shouldn't, now can I say my goodbye to your mom" she said, Martins shook his head.
"Knowing my mom, she is fast asleep" he said and escort Joy out, Martins is marveled at his mothers reaction, as a matter of fact he is still afraid its all an act.
"I will call you when I get home" Joy said as she board the tricycle, Martins now went back inside. He didn't bother disturbing his mom, for why bother when he will get her reaction soon enough.
It was dusk when she woke up, Martins jerked up as she walked in
"Where is the girl" she asked
"Gone" he answered looking everywhere but his mom. She knows the reason for that
"You are afraid, that my earlier display was just all an act?" She asked and he gave her a nod, making her giggle "you know you grew up so fast when you father died, you started taking care of me and never cared for anything else" she said and sat down, Martins did too "you smile, you laugh, but non of it was true, you just did it to mask the pain" she said and Martins was surprised she noticed
"But for a while now your smile and laugh are not fake but true, I would be dumb if I didn't notice its started when you started tutoring" she exhaled "at first I thought its cause you love teaching, then I dotted my I's and crossed T's and realized its a girl" she laughed.
"Now what kind of a mother would I be if I chase the girl that brought my son so much happiness when I couldn't do it" she said and Martins felts tears rolled down his cheeks. He is beyond happy to have a mom that truly understands.
"Mom, you deserve a Nobel prize" he said wiping his tears.
"I already have you, that's the best prize I can get"
