For the fact that our Christmas and New year wasn't exactly fun cause of my pregnant and the baby, Peter decide to take me out on a date, in the middle of January.
"Am glad you're now back to your formal self" he said as he drops his juice, I just nodded, my mouth is filled with meet, he always knows how to spoil a lady.
We never talked about the kiss, I guess he chalked it off as my emotional break down, and I never told him about what he said in his sleep. Though I never asked me but the feeling I had when I heard is still with me, I always replay it on my mind.
"So what's your plan for me" I said after eating now taking the refreshments, I know he always have plans, I just hope it doesn't involve me staying at home like before.
"Nothing much" he shrugged, I narrowed my eyes at him making him laugh, "how cute love" yea that's his new name for me and every time is slips out of his mouth my stomach turns in the most flustering way.
"I just want to get busy with something, you know help you out" I said slowly.
"Your smile helps a lot more than you know" he said, how can I argue with that, being with Peter is always like a sweet torture, even now I have no idea what we are. We agreed to date others, but after giving birth and getting back to normal, guys always approach me when I go to market. I can't accept them cause I now find men disgusted except Peter of course.
"If I don't start something, I will start selling fruits in front of the compound" I threatened, he smiled and raised up his arms,
"K love, you win" he said and a victorious smile appeared on my lips, is not everyday I get to win him.
Am fuming right now, you may wonder why, its because both my parents are in front of me, they're begging for forgiveness but its a little too late for that.
"You guys abandoned me when I needed you most" I barked at them, am guessing they got our address from Lydia.
"We're sorry, we failed as a parents" my mom pleaded, if not because I want to be a better person than them I would've literally shoved them out from the house, beside Peter is begging me to calm down. Its weekend so he's around and it pissed me more that my parents now spoiled our weekend.
"Sorry is what you say when you mistakenly march someone, on the feet, not when you tramble on their heart" I said, I can feel the tears sting my eyes but I refuse to let it drop. Am stronger now, a year older.
"To err is human to forgive is divine" Peter said, how come he's quoting now, I looked at him, he gave me a warm smile and continued "all men soul are immortal, but only the righteous are immortal and divine" am curious to see what's he dragging at "so I figured the best way to be righteous and divine, giving you a better place at afterlife is forgiveness" he said.
"So" I replied not so gently. He looked at my parents.
"Here is God giving you an opportunity to attain divinity just by doing this righteous act" he took a deep breath and a step closer "forgive them love" he said, I hiccup, h calling me love in front of my parents elevated me to height I never knew existed.
When he is so convincing and his closeness is really doing a lot to me I couldn't help but concedes to his demands.
"Alright, I forgive them, but am not going with them" I said just to be clear, am happy where I am, I saw the sadness cross my parents face, they have no idea how much I now rely on Peter. I looked at him and he gave me an assuring smile.
"Thank you for that Child" my father said, he now looks older, he seems to be stressed, I hope they're alright.
"Hope you guys can now eat, cause your daughter makes the best food" he said, my parents looked at me, I don't think I will be comfortable around them eating just yet.
"Maybe some other time" Mom said, Peter just shrugged.
"We will be leaving now" Dad announced, I just nodded and scoots closer to Peter, I hope they won't go for the hug family reunion cause that will be embarrassing. Luckily they didn't, they left after waving goodbye and Peter escorted downstairs.
"You see love, slowly everything will get back to normal" he said as he got up, I just nodded.
"Wish it will be the same with your parents" I muttered not loud enough for him to hear.
"So let's have lunch, am famished" he announced I giggled, he really have a monster appetite.
"I have something to tell you" Peter said making me drop the novel I was reading, its night, I like to read before sleeping, we have separates room but always sleep together, maybe stays in his room chatting till we fall asleep in each others arms or in my room watching movie till he sleeps off and I on his chest. Truthfully am still confused what we are but am glad he is here.
"What's that" I asked.
"I want you to continue your education" he said and I was bewildered.
"Why" I asked almost immediately.
"You asked what's my plan for you, that's it, I want you to continue, you're very bright its useless to let that brain go idle" he said looking at me.
"What of you, if am considered intelligent then you're actually a genius" hell he even got a scholarship, he smile
"Am glad you considers me a genius, but I already have my hands tied, so your the one more suited for school now" he said.
"I don't have the money to sponsor myself, and I don't want to mooch off you, I want to help out, start up a business or something" I said pouting, he chuckled.
"Its not mooching love, its me investing on you, you will later be of help in the future, I believe so, and beside you will still be doing something that yields you money as you school since you have your mind set on working" he said and it got my attention, one thing is Peter is a genius so I know his plans always work.
"So what's that" I asked with curiosity.
"Am thinking you should start learning how to make soap and cream, so when you gain admission you van make and sale them and help with the money" he said, that's really a great idea, and with the it will develop and be something bigger if God will it, how far ahead does he really plan.
"That's actually not bad" I said and he smile
"So love you will go register for your Jamb tomorrow, start lesson if you want, thenafter taking your exams as you wait for the result, you will use the time to learn about the soap and cream" he said and I nodded.
He yawn showing his tired, he now stood up to leave, we are in my room, he sometimes he leave to his room and I will enter his room in the middle of the night with the pretence that I had a bad dream.
"Where are you going" I asked.
"To my room, am about to turn in" he said stretching.
"Mister you don't get to leave me after making me watch that horror movie earlier today" I said holding on to his hand, yea we watched Saw, and by God I can still imagine the scenes vividly. He laughed and laid beside me.
"Scardy cat" he said as he pressed me closer to himself, here is where I love being most, no place in this world can give me the warmth he radiates or the beautiful sound of his heartbeat, its always the lullaby that lures me to sleep.
"Have I ever told you're beautiful or called you beautiful" he asked, my heart throbs faster by his words and my breath hitched coupled with the warmth of his breath.
"No" I used all my will power not to moan as I bit my lower lips.
"Then I've been a fool love, cause you're beautiful" he whispered putting more stress on beautiful. I was dumbstruck that I was rendered speechless and after a while I heard his soft snore, he's asleep. I twisted myself and turned to him, the light of the moon illuminates the room making his face shine. I ran my fingers across his face, touched his lips and marvelled at how beautiful and innocent he is.
"You don't get to sweep a girl off her feet every time Mister Peter, and expect her not to fall for you" I said as I watch him sleep.
