Chapter 9
I left her with Mr Segun, I sadly went to the office, the whole while I was uneasy, I had tons of work as I got back, it was the only escape I had from Vivian syndrome. After a long day at home am about to go, am famished, I didn't eat lunch, and breakfast, so I decided to first go to the restaurant before going home
"Hello" she said as I got down, it is Vivian jus the girl I want to see, she smiled and wave, so did I
"You came" I said, God actually answered my prayer for I kept praying for this moment.
"You miss me" she said, I laughed, with her around I feel no hunger anymore,
"Would you kiss me if I say yes" I said before I could stop myself, damn I just said the K word and the atmosphere changed, she dropped her head, and kept looking a her feet, I need to lighten up the mood
"Did you suddenly notice how attractive your feet are" I said, she raised her head and beam me a smile, I felt happy "come let's go" I suggested and we both went to the car and I drove off.
When we got home, my stomach have growled a thousand time, she noticed it, she laughed though, and made stories how the worm in my stomach are at home, it was an interesting story, almost made me forget my hunger.
"Come have dinner with us after you freshen up" she said as we got home. I agreed, though I feel I will be unwelcomed by her father, but its rude to turn her down besides am hungry.
After freshening up, I was about heading to her side when I started hearing argument, between Vivian and her father, though I can't hear what they are arguing about I feel its about me, my leg froze, I felt disappointed, they voice was the only thing I could hear. After listening I felt I should go check it out and know if I can control the situation though I have absolutely no idea on what to do. They stopped when I was midway, so I decided to go back since there is no need. Instead of going in I sat at my doorsteps looking in to space.
"Did hunger made you so miserable" the sweetest voice got me out of my state, it was Vivian with a plate of food, its noodles, that will do for tonight.
"Barely" I answered, she smiled and handed the food over to me, and went inside my apartment, I was confused why, maybe she want me to follow her, but if she did she would've head straight inside with the food, I was still contemplating when she came out with the water.
'Oh, she brought water' I thought to myself.
"Eat" she said and sat beside me, though she is smiling, I can see the sadness in her eyes, I focused and ate my food first, I fear I need strength for what is to come.
"Thanks" I said after am done eating,
"You welcome" she said and took the plate and kept beside her, then silent engulfed us as we both starred at the sky.
"When I was younger, I use to see animal shape in the clouds" she paused "during daytime, I can see them clearing, forming different type of animals, both lion, tiger, tortoise any animal you can think of" she said, I use to do it too
"Me too" I said and she looked at me.
"Its the only play where tortoise can swallow a lion" she said giggling, I joined her
"Its been long it happened" I said, I no longer see it
"No, its just been long you sat down and stare at the clouds" she said, and I realize its true.
Once again silent after a while I decided to break it "I heard the argument" I said sadly, she took a deep breath and exhaled
"I was hoping you didn't" she said looking at me, that when I saw tears rolled down her cheek, my hands automatically went to wipe it
"Its alright love" I said and she leaned to my touch
"Its not, my dad forbids me from seeing you or have anything to do with you" she said and my heart skipped a bit
"I refused that's when things got out of control and hence the shouting, he don't know what you mean to me, may have been unworthy before but you changed, I noticed how you brush girls off" she said, it gladens my heart she noticed my change, but I don't want to severe the bond she have with her father.
"Am sorry" I said,
"Its not your fault" she said, "I will make him see reason" she said wiping her tears, I know it will only worsen the situation, am the one that need to handle the situation, but I need to be sure, I need to be sure of my feelings so I did what I think is right
"You father is right" I said and she turned at me, looking at me like I just grew a horn
"No father in his right mind would want his daughter to be around me" I said avoiding her eyes
"So what are you saying" she asked
"I like you, I really do, but I won't do anything with you with your fathers approval" I said and her eyes widened, she regain her posture after a while, the took her plate and stood up to walk away
"Come on am doing the best thing" I said she kept silent and walked towards her apartment, when ten feet away, she turned to me
"I thought the kiss meant something and you will be fighting to keep us together, how wrong I was" she said and ran to her apartment and bang the door shut.
"It meant everything, that's why I have to date you with your fathers consent" I muttered to myself.

"So what are you saying" she asked
"I like you, I really do, but I won't do anything with you with your fathers approval" I said and her eyes widened, she regain her posture after a while, the took her plate and stood up to walk away
"Come on am doing the best thing" I said she kept silent and walked towards her apartment, when ten feet away, she turned to me
"I thought the kiss meant something and you will be fighting to keep us together, how wrong I was" she said and ran to her apartment and bang the door shut.
"It meant everything, that's why I have to date you with your fathers consent" I muttered to myself.
