Knowing its inevitable, that its better sooner than later, she sat her mom down and told her everything, she was vague about her feelings but she was willing to give him a chance
"So of all men that comes after you, you chose a widower" her mom said in monotone, Mirabel flinched as she anticipate her approval, cause her approval is the only one that matters. She looks at he with hawk eye
"Its about time girl" her mom said tapping her, that means she accept, Mirabel released the breath she never knew she's holding.
"Yea" she said dreamly, her mother knows the feeling, she once had it, she still have it
"This calls for celebration" she said and brought out a red wine, though Mirabel already have her stomach filled but she don't want to be the party pooper
Her mom drank most of the win, she is now tipsy, Mirabel was amused at how she stagger, she get drunk time to time, when she wants to forget, but little did Mirabel know that today is different. She is not drink to forget, she is drinking to man up, and tell her something, something that will instantly change the atmosphere.
"Mom, its enough, let me take you to bed" she said and helped her to bed, the woman have been through a lot, all Mirabel want is to give her a comfortable life, she never saw her dad since he left and she don't care.
"My girl" her mom said touching her face as she lay on the bed
"I love you so much" she said and Mirabel smile, knowing though she loves her but the alcohol is taking effect
"I love you more" she replied which made her mom smiled too
"Your father came by today" she said with a hint of sadness, truthfully the atmosphere changed, and the past experience Mirabel have been trying so hard to suppress came rushing back
"He what" she asked angrily, not for her mom but her dad
"Came by" she repeated, and Mirabel slump beside her, then an ugly feeling enter her heart, she now fear her fairytale ride will soon crash and her prince charming will be lost.
